We are very lucky to have a 'Kamishibai' theatre which is from Japan as our special library lesson for the UN Week. Kamishibai is a form of storytelling originated from Japan. (Here is a good website for more information about Kaminishibai for kids)

We helped a piglet grow up into a big pig, a baby dinosaur to be born out of an egg and changed a tiny small cake to a large one for everyone to share a piece!

We also enjoyed reading with our buddy classes and have made some new friends!

We've been working hard on learning about spine labels!  In a library, all the books have a label to show which shelf the book belongs.  For the picture books in the Snake the labels are

Picture
E
ABC

The E represents Everybody fiction, so the book belongs in the snake.  The ABC are the first 3 letters of the author's surname, and the book belongs in the A box.

We have had quite a few entries from the children about their favorite book character. There is still time to send us a picture or sentence about who we should paint on our walls.

In library class we have been talking about where to find the different types on books (picture books, books with CD, mandarin etc).

For Nursery and Reception we listened to Charlie Cook's Favorite book written by Julia Donaldson on CD and read Delilah Darling is in the library by Jeanne Willis.

For Year 1 and 2 we read Mr. Wiggle's Library by Carol Thompson.
