We started our topic on Chinese Music and learnt about two Chinese traditional musical instruments: ErHu - a bowed string instrument and Pipa - a plucked string instrument. We sang a medley of Chinese New Year Songs and we had fun adding Chinese percussion instruments (Drums and Cymbals) to the songs.
We also learnt two other new songs with B note on the recorder - Magic B and No More Milk Today.

Song of the week:
¡我敲小鼓 咚咚 wo qiao xiao gu Dong Dong
我敲小锣 锵锵 wo qiao xiao luo Qiang Qiang
咱们两个一起敲 za men liang ge yi qi qiao
咚 锵 咚 锵 Dong Qiang Dong Qiang
咚锵 咚咚锵 Dong Qiang Dong Dong Qiang
We were given our recorders this week and we learnt about the different parts of the recorder.
We learnt to hold and blow the note B.
Press your left thumb over the hole underneath the recorder and cover the top hole nearest your mouth with your first finger. Put your right thumb under the recorder opposite the fourth hole. This helps to hold the recorder.
We learnt to play on the recorder the song Little Fly.

Remember to say "tu" each time you play the note. Be careful, only your left thumb and first finger should cover the holes.
