This week we listened and sang another two musical stories and learnt about note La. So-me at the Pole and So-me in Space, introduces La in the name of La-me, So-me’s brother. A so-mi-la-mi song is sung and whistled. We played this song on xylophones, glockenspiels and boomwhackers.
The song of the week is Boom Boom.

This week we continued to listen and sing another two musical stories: So-me Meets the Boss which develops the association of the so-mi interval with two stave lines, and the practice of chanting one's own name and So-me, Oh and Romeo, a story who  introduces the mi-so interval which children find less easy to hear and imitate than so-mi.
We also sang three new songs: I Sent a Valentine, Look Who's Coming and Boom Boom.

This week we start to listen (and sang) two musical stories So-me Goes Missing and So-me and the Spider. These stories are designed to help children to sing in tune and to move in time. The stories introduces So-me as a character whose name often has a particular sound interval, and it directs children's attention to everyday sounds around them. We also sang Scales and Arpeggios from The Aristocats and Aussie Rock.

We continued our Chinese Music topic and we learnt about another two chinese musical instruments: Dizi - the chinese flute and Yang Qin. We sang two new songs: All Together Now and Skidamarink and we had fun adding drums on the songs.
